Mediation and Collaborative Law

in North Wales and Chester

Director and Chartered Legal Executive Alison Stace is an Accredited Mediator. Alison can see clients in our Wrexham, Chester and Llanrwst offices for Civil matters.

Mediation is a key way of reducing litigation costs and will reduce the emotional as well as the financial damage to individuals as a result of lengthy Court cases. With spiraling Court fees following recent significant increases it is no wonder that more and more people are choosing to progress matters through mediation.

If you would like further information on Mediation and how it may be useful in your case, we have created an FAQ document which can be downloaded below.

Collaborative Law

The aim of Collaborative Law is to resolve Matrimonial disputes without recourse to Court. A series of meetings between the parties and their legal representatives takes place, with a view to reaching an agreement. The agreement is then presented to the Court for approval and embodied into a Consent Order. Should an agreement not be possible, the parties must seek new Lawyers before issuing any Court proceedings. This process is only suitable in cases where both parties are committed to resolving their financial dispute in a non-adversarial way.

Collaborative Law can make divorce a much more constructive, and less harrowing process. It can be of particular benefit to those with children, since they must continue to have a working relationship beyond the divorce.

Having over 20 years of experience in family law, Rachel Wyn Jones was amongst the first four solicitors in North Wales to train for Collaborative Law.
