Emily is a solicitor in our Criminal Department. She qualified as a Solicitor on 1st March 2018 and has since represents her Clients throughout all stages of Criminal proceedings
Emily deals with a vast variety of criminal work including thefts and motoring offences, as well as more serious allegations such as sexual offences. She also has experience representing Companies in respect of regulatory offences involving investigations by Natural Resources Wales (previously the Environment Agency) and prosecutions brought by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Emily also deals with prosecutions by the Department for Work and Pensions and Local Authorities and is able to provide advice at Interview under Cautions regarding overpayment of any benefits.
Emily obtained her Police Station Accreditation in February 2016 and regularly provides free and independent legal advice covering all police stations across North Wales and Cheshire including voluntary interviews conducted by the Police.
She has dealt with a variety of cases and organisations during her time as a Police Station Representative, Paralegal and Solicitor, from simple shoplifting matters to multi handed drug conspiracies and historic sexual offences.
Emily joined Allington Hughes in June 2015 as a paralegal in the Criminal Department. She graduated from The University of Law (previously known as The College of Law) in 2014 with a law degree after receiving a scholarship from the University to study the ‘2 year accelerated and practice focused LLB (Hons)’. She then continued to study her Legal Practice Course which she completed in June 2015.
In addition to qualifying as a Solicitor, Emily also successfully passed the Criminal Assessment under the Higher Rights of Audience Regulations 2011 on 1st February 2018 meaning that she is also a Solicitor-Advocate of the Higher Criminal Courts and able to represent clients at the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal.
Emily is a member of the Junior Lawyer Division and also a Committee member for the Wrexham and North Wales Young Business Professionals.
