Melissa Griffiths

Melissa deals exclusively with Criminal and Regulatory Law and has over 30 years experience of representing clients at Police Stations and Magistrates’ Courts throughout the region. She deals with a wide variety of cases including serious assaults, public disorder, drug offences, thefts, frauds and serious sexual offences as well as motoring matters.

Melissa is extremely passionate about her work and will battle tirelessly to ensure her client’s legal rights are protected.

Melissa also has vast experience of dealing with regulatory offences, such as defending prosecutions brought under the Animal Welfare Act and offences relating to cattle passports as well as Trading Standards and Information Commissioner’s Office prosecutions.

Melissa was appointed a Duty Solicitor in 1996 and became a Solicitor-Advocate in January 2009 enabling her to represent clients in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal.

Melissa joined Allington Hughes in 1991, having graduated from the University of Wales Aberystwyth with a Law degree.

After qualifying as a solicitor in 1993, she became a Partner in the firm in 1998 and became a Director upon incorporation in 2013. Melissa retired from the board in August 2024, but has remained with Allington Hughes as a Consultant Solicitor.
