Patrick Geddes

Director

Patrick is a Director and also the head of the criminal & regulatory department. He is a solicitor-advocate of the Higher Criminal Courts and represents clients in the police station, Magistrates Court and the Crown Court.

He obtained his Law Degree from the Bangor University (formally University of Wales Bangor) in 2009 and completed the Legal Practice Course in 2010.

He became a fully accredited Police Station Representative in 2013 and joined Allington Hughes in January 2015 as a paralegal in the criminal department, having spent the five years previously working in Chester specialising in criminal law. Patrick began a training contract with Allington Hughes in December 2015 and qualified as a solicitor in June 2017.

Partrick became an accredited duty solicitor for the police station and court in 2018 and is part of the local court (Wrexham and Mold) and police station (Llay) duty solicitor scheme. This allows him to provide free and independent legal advice to detainees at the police stations and representation to defendants at Court who request the services of a duty solicitor.

Patrick became a solicitor advocate in 2020 enabling him to also represent defendants in the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal.

Patrick attends the police stations, Magistrates’ Courts and Crown Courts regularly to provide advice and assistance to clients on both a legal aid and private fee paying basis.

He has dealt with a variety of cases during his time as a police station representative and solicitor, from simple shoplifting matters to multi handed drug conspiracies and sexual offences, together with applications in the Criminal Court for domestic violence protection orders and stalking protection orders.

He has experience dealing with a number of different prosecuting authorities including the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), police, Information Commissioners Office (ICO), NHS, Royal Mail and the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP)
