Many of us will be familiar with the TV programme, Long Lost Family, which is based around adoption and has many adults who have previously been adopted, and spend most of their adult lives searching for their birth family.
Some are searching for answers, some are looking to involve their birth family within their life and show them how they have grown.
This sometimes heart-breaking programme, shows insight into how parents of those searching have sought to put their own needs to one side and for whatever reason, many of those reasons out of their control, do what is best for their children to give them the best in life.
Many adopted children have a huge sense of loss and abandonment, which whilst repaired as far as possible by the love of their adoptive parents, has no bearing to knowing where they have come from and who their birth families are.
At Allington Hughes Law, we can help whether you’re a family going through care and placement proceedings, seeking to challenge plans for adoption, adoption application proceedings or seeking post adoption contact.
