Allington Hughes Supports Autism Charity at Midsummer Cricket Match

Allington Hughes, a leading law firm committed to making a positive impact in the community, is proud to announce its support for a charity cricket match aimed at raising funds for an autism support organisation.

The highly anticipated T20 contest, organised by Your Space charity, will take place at Chirk Cricket Club on Sunday 25th June.

The match will showcase a spirited face-off between the Chirk side and The Metronomes, a remarkable traveling cricket club that passionately fundraises for autism. Founded in 2022 by Michael and Bex Coleman, a couple from Northumberland who have first-hand experience with autism, The Metronomes have made it their mission to raise awareness and support for this important cause through the sport they love.

Last year, their inaugural match was an incredible success, raising an impressive total of £3,750. An online cricket memorabilia auction, featuring items from esteemed cricket legends both past and present, further boosted the proceeds.

Inspired by this achievement, The Metronomes are eager to continue their charitable endeavours, with Allington Hughes proudly attending as sponsors.

The match will be hosted by Your Space, a local charity operating across Shropshire, Wrexham, Flintshire, and Denbighshire. Your Space provides invaluable support to children with autistic spectrum conditions and their families, promoting inclusion and understanding throughout society. Andrew Edwards, a dedicated fundraiser for Your Space, expressed his excitement and gratitude for being chosen as the event host, extending heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to making it possible.

“On a personal level, it will be a wonderful experience to combine two of my passions in life: cricket and Your Space. I have been tirelessly organizing this event since July 2022. I am tremendously grateful for the assistance and unwavering enthusiasm of Michael Coleman from The Metronomes, who has promptly responded to my countless messages. I would also like to extend my deepest appreciation to our sponsors, Suzanne Newall from Chirk AAA Club, and Tim Flack from Chirk Cricket Club, for graciously allowing us to utilise Holyhead Road for this special occasion. Without their support, this remarkable event would not be possible.”

This outstanding event has garnered the support of numerous groups and businesses, all dedicated to making a difference. Match sponsors include Anise Wrexham, Allington Hughes, and Caffi Wylfa Chirk, while match-ball sponsors include Daulby Read, Disability Cricket Podcast, Owens Cricket, Blades Gents Barbers Wrexham, and Jamie Ward Traditional Family Butchers.

Alison Stace, Managing Director, from Allington Hughes said;

“We are proud to sponsor this charity cricket match, as it brings together two powerful forces: the love for cricket and the passion for making a positive impact. We love what the Your Space charity does for the local community and hope that this event helps bring a spotlight on all the work they do in an enjoyable and fun way.”
