Allington Hughes is delighted to announce that in an independent Peer Review conducted for the Legal Aid Agency, our Criminal & Regulatory Department scored Category 1 – Excellence, the highest possible rating. Of 965 peer reviews conducted in England and Wales, only 27 scored a rating of One – Excellence and Allington Hughes Law is the only law firm in Wrexham to have scored this.
Peer Review is one of the audit tools used by the Legal Aid Agency to monitor provider performance. Peer Review involves a panel of independent and experienced legal practitioners assessing the quality of legal work against a set of criteria and levels of performance agreed with the professional community. The reviewers assess a random sample of 12-15 case files. Peer review is the best method available to measure the quality of advice and legal work of providers. The intention of Independent Peer Review is to enhance the standards of legal work carried out under public funding.
