Since April 2013, there have been severe restrictions on Legal Aid. However, it is available in certain situations, such as where social services are involved with your family or where you and/or your children have been victims of domestic abuse, subject to you meeting the correct income and capital requirements.
Legal aid is generally only available for those who are on a low income or benefits and can satisfy the financial limits set by the Legal Aid Agency. If you or your partner has savings, properties, income from employment or other sources of income then we can assess whether you are financially eligible for legal aid. Legal aid is also still available for mediation. We can advise you on this free and without obligation, prior to any appointment.
Legal aid for legal advice and representation is available for the following types of family law cases:
We can also offer a number of flexible payment options, such as fixed fees in certain cases, and we will always give you clear and transparent estimates so that you are always aware of the cost implications of your case at the outset.
If you would like any further information or assistance with any Family Law matters, please call any of our three offices or email [email protected] and we will get straight back to you.
