Matthew Poulton

Matthew is an associate solicitor in our commercial property department. He specialises in agricultural and commercial property and carries out the following work:

• the sale and purchase of agricultural land
• the grant of farm business tenancies and grazing licences
• providing advice on AHA tenancies
• service of notices to quit/termination of tenancies (AHA tenancies and FBTs)
• selling land at auction
• first registrations of land and farms (including applications based on lost or missing deeds and adverse possession)
• prescriptive easements
• rectification of title applications
• Acting for charities in the sale, purchase or letting of land
• Advising both landlords and tenants on commercial landlord and tenant matters including; new leases, renewals, surrenders, extensions, variations and licences

Matthew was awarded a post-graduate certificate in Agricultural Law from Harper Adams University in 2015.

Matthew qualified as a solicitor in September 1999 and has over 18 years of experience in commercial and agricultural property law. He joined Allington Hughes Law in 2020.
