Stephen Foote

Managing Director


Stephen is the Managing Director of Allington Hughes.

He is responsible for the management of the company and oversees and implements the Company’s business strategy, assisted by an experienced Management Team and Strategic Board of Directors.

Stephen is a solicitor in our dispute resolution department and a director of Allington Hughes Law. He is able to assist with all aspects of dispute resolution including contractual, property, business and personal disputes as well as contentious Wills and probate matters and employment matters. Since joining the firm, Stephen has regularly assisted our commercial department in relation to the drafting of terms and conditions, preparing partnership agreements and the sale of companies.

Stephen qualified as a solicitor in 1991, having previously studied in both London and at the College of Law in Chester. He completed a training contract in London and a move to Manchester followed shortly after in 1995, where Stephen’s practice encompassed both criminal law and all aspects of civil litigation and employment law. From Manchester, Stephen moved to a firm in Bristol where he practiced as a civil litigator and employment lawyer for nearly 20 years. In that time he has also assisted with commercial matters. Most recently Stephen has assisted clients in matters in a number of varied areas such as re-instatement of their job; sale of their business; an entitlement to a share of a deceased relatives’ estate and the recovery of incorrectly calculated nursing home/care fees.

Stephen is the Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) for Allington Hughes. The role is instrumental in creating a culture of compliance throughout a firm, becoming its focal point for the identification of risk and the key point of contact for the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
